NEW DESIGNS from DAK HYDROFOILS

The book HYDROFOIL VOYAGER contains drawings and renderings of the following new designs:

31-FT WILLIWAW II: Features a 20 or 22 foot hull beam, whereas the earlier boat had 16'4". Has full-buoyancy float hulls. Has much more efficient hydrofoils and sail rig. Sail rig is also more powerful. Now has standing headroom in the main saloon. Double berths in the wing sections. Has a larger cockpit. Continues to feature a stern cabin. Improved hull and foil structures. Trailering is possible at a 9.5' width, by building in a special hull split line.

24-FT SEAFOILER: Features really hot performance with an 18-foot hull beam and a powerful sail rig. Extremely spacious cabin for a 24-footer. Has sitting headroom in main saloon. Double berths are possible in the wing sections. Can be trailered at an 8.5' width.

20-FT POCKET CRUISER: Should be the fastest and most comfortable 20-foot cruiser around. However, the boat will not perform as well as the larger hydrofoils in rough water. There is space for two berths, each 36" x 80". The exposed portion of the berths forms the cockpit seats. At night, or sailing in inclement weather, the cockpit can have a cloth cover supported by top bows. There is plenty of stowage space in the boat, and space for a lavatory/washstand. For trailering, the float hulls can be folded under the wing sections. (More simply, hulls can be rigidly joined together, and the boat can be tilted up on a trailer.) The boat features a quick set-up time.

FOILS FOR EXISTING CATAMARANS: For main foils, daysailing catamarans can use the lateral foil units of the same design, but often requiring elements of a different chord length. The catamarans utilize stabilizing fins on the rudder blades. This is a foil configuration for achieving the highest hydrofoiling speeds. Foils can be installed on existing catamarans of lengths 14 feet and up, lightweight daysailers primarily.
